DESCRIPTION:The ARCADES Kickoff and Recruitment Workshop took place on 25-27 April 2016\, at the Technische Universität Wien — Freihaus building\, Wiedner Hauptstraße 8-10\, green area — 7th floor\, Zeichensaal 3. It is the building marked with a “D” in this map. \nThis is an International Research Workshop aiming at presenting the activities planned within ARCADES. \nThere is funding to support the participation of qualified students interested in the Network’s 13 open PhD positions. Note: even after the event\, most positions remain open. \n\n\n					\n				Schedule			 \n		\n		\n			 You can download the program here.\n		\n\n		 \n\n					\n				Second announcement and Call for Applications (CLOSED)			 \n		\n		\n			\n25-27 April 2016\nTechnische Universität Wien\, Austria \nARCADES Workshop: Kickoff and Recruitment Event \n \nDeadline for funding applications to the Workshop: 31 January 2016 \nThis is the Kickoff Workshop of European Network ARCADES\, and also a Recruitment event for the Network’s 13 PhD positions. MSc students or recent graduates are encouraged to participate and may request funding. ARCADES is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network\, that started on January 1st\, 2016\, lasting for 4 years. It includes 8 sites and 5 industrial partners. It offers a comprehensive training program at the crossroads of mathematics\, computer-aided design\, and software development. \nRecruitment event \nWe encourage the participation of recent graduates that have obtained\, or students completing\, their MSc in Computer Science\, Mathematics\, Engineering or another relevant field\, and may be interested in the Network’s PhD positions. They shall learn of our planned activities and meet potential advisors\, and may present their work in a poster session. ARCADES offers funding to such participants\, typically of up to 700 Euro per person\, in order to cover travel and accommodation. \nThose interested must apply by January 31st\, 2016\, by sending an email to arcades.kickoff@geometrie.tuwien.ac.at\, containing one file with the items below\, and the subject line marking “WORKSHOP APPLICATION”: \n1) Detailed CV\,\n2) the completed eligibility form (from http://arcades-network.eu/index.php/open-positions)\,\n3) [if requesting funding] the expected cost of travel and accommodation costs\, and the amount of funding requested\,\n4) [optionally] the title of a poster that the applicant may wish to present. \nStudents and researchers from countries affected by conflict and having their careers interrupted are encouraged to apply; see http://ec.europa.eu/research/mariecurieactions/news-events/news/2015/1216-researchers-at-risk_en.htm.\n		\n\n		 \n\n					\n				Travel Information			 \n		\n		\n			 Before travelling to Austria\, please check if you need a visa to enter Austria. Once you are in Vienna\, follow the directions below to go to Vienna University of Technology.\nThe Workshop will take place at the Freihaus building of the Faculty of Mathematics and Geoinformation. It is the building marked with a “D” in this map. \nHow to get to Vienna University of Technology\n\nBy Plane\nThe Vienna International Airport (VIA) in Schwechat is about 20 km south-east of Vienna.
