Lunches and breaks will be served on site.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>Programme of the event:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The event will start on Monday afternoon and will close on Friday at noon.<\/p>\n<h3><em>Monday April 3 : H<\/em><em>ow to turn\u00a0scientific innovative knowledge into products ?<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>13:00-14:00: Lunch at Inria<br \/>\n14:00-15:00 : Oliver Labs &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.mo-labs.com\/\">MOLabs<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n<li><em>Title :<\/em> The path towards the math sculptures business MO-Labs<\/li>\n<li>A<em>bstract<\/em> :\u00a0The talk will give an overview about how I started from being<br \/>\na researcher in algebraic geometry, and how I finally came to run my own<br \/>\nbusiness MO-Labs which creates mathematical sculptures and other<br \/>\nmath objects. Figures which will play a role in this story include &#8220;a badly<br \/>\nprepared cr\u00eape\u201d, \u201ca cup of coffee in the sun\u201d, and \u201ca house next to the vineyards\u201d.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>15:00-16:00 : Andreas Fabri &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/geometryfactory.com\/\">GeometryFactory<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n<li><em>Title :<\/em> CGAL &#8211; The Computational Geometry Algorithms Library<\/li>\n<li>A<em>bstract<\/em> : I will present the co-evolution of the CGAL Open Source<br \/>\nproject and GeometryFactory, the software development<br \/>\ncompany that emanated from this project in 2003.<br \/>\nWe start with the technical challenges encountered when<br \/>\ndeveloping geometric data structures and algorithms,<br \/>\nand examples for how they are used in different application domains.<br \/>\nWe then explain our strategy to turn research prototypes into products<br \/>\nand make them perennial, the various forms of interaction between<br \/>\nGeometryFactory and its academic partners, and the choice<br \/>\nof an open source license that corresponds best to our business model.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>16:00-16:30 : Coffee Break<br \/>\n16:30-17:30 :\u00a0 Alexander Schiftner &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.evolute.at\/\">Evolute<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shapediver.com\/\">ShapeDiver<\/a><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: square;\">\n<li><em>Title :<\/em> Evolute &#8211; how mathematicians and geometers can make a difference in architecture<\/li>\n<li>A<em>bstract<\/em> : I will present the story of Evolute, which was founded in 2008 as a spin-off<br \/>\nfrom the research group for Geometric Modeling and Industrial Geometry at TU Vienna.<br \/>\nAt Evolute we are applying methods of geometric optimization, geometric data analysis<br \/>\nand fitting to problems arising in architecture. While we started with a clear focus on<br \/>\nfreeform facades, we found that related problems also exist in \u201cflat\u201d architecture.
